The customer
Mascotte was introduced just after the Second World War by the Eindhoven tobacco company Mignot & De Block. There was a shortage of rolling paper at the time and importing was not allowed. Frank Mignot therefore bought a batch of paper from a Limburg printer on which Bibles were normally printed and marketed it under the brand name 'Mascotte'. Mascotte also introduced the first filter sleeves. Mascotte's headquarters are still located in Eindhoven, but the production of rolling papers and filter sleeves takes place in France, Germany, Austria and England.
The challenge
To further expand their brand awareness among cannabis users, they wanted to expand their range with high-end clothing. “I think this is exactly the right time to take this to the next level, we want to be seen as a lifestyle brand.” “We want people to wear our brand because they love it and not because of other external factors.” According to the experts at Mascotte.
The solution
It is important to understand the target group to develop a successful high-end clothing line. We initially looked at the target group they wanted to focus on. What are the wishes and needs of cannabis users? We came to the conclusion that this target group wanted good clothing with a relaxed fit and a positive impact on the environment. We have therefore opted for loose-fit models of t-shirts, sweaters and hoodies for the Mascotte clothing line, the fabric of which is made of high-quality organic cotton. We have also increased the weight of the fabric so that the clothing can easily be compared with today's expensive brands. The clothing was supplied with a neck tag, hang tag and were neatly packaged in biodegradable clothing bags so that it could be shipped directly to the end user.
The result
The end result is a beautiful high-end clothing line that is currently being worn by the right target group. This also resulted in a significant increase in Mascotte's brand awareness among cannabis users.
